His Excellency the Governor of Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Dr. Ahmad bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid approved the new regulations for disbursing the scientific excellence reward for outstanding trainees in all technical colleges, international technical colleges, and secondary industrial institutes. The new regulations aim at encouraging and motivating male and female trainees.
The Director General of Trainees Affairs, Eng. Khalid Barakat, clarified that enhancing the conditions for entitlement to the reward came to motivate the trainees to outclass and excel during the training period, indicating that the conditions for entitlement to the reward have been made up in two categories. The first is to be granted to the trainee who completed the graduation requirements. The reward in this category includes an amount of 2000 riyals and a certificate of excellence. The second category reward is to be granted to the outstanding trainee in the training semester and during the training phases, and it includes a financial reward of 1000 riyals.
He added that the two categories require the trainee to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.75 or higher out of 5, to be a Saudi or his equivalent, not to have been deprived or failed in any training course, not to have been issued any disciplinary penalties recorded in the training facilities system, and not to be an employee. It is also required that the trainee be a regular in the morning period and not have withdrawn or dismissed during the training period. Regarding the semester excellence reward, it requires that the trainee's number of credit hours registered for him in the training semester is no less than 16 hours to ensure that the trainee's progress is achieved throughout the training plan. The Director General stated that the reward to be disbursed starting from the trainee's second training level and for one time, confirming that the disbursement will start at the beginning of the training year 1443 AH.
It is noteworthy that TVTC enumerates the outstanding students in every training semester of each year in all technical colleges and institutes for both sexes to grant them the reward of scientific excellence. Note that the number of trainees awarded the scientific excellence reward for the past year 1440 AH / 1441 AH reached 1676 male and female trainees.
