General Studies Center

The General Studies Center gives atmost care to teaching general courses that assist to upgrade trainees scientifically and culturally, and also to the teaching of some basic subjects which help trainees to build up their conceptualization in order to comprehend the syllabuses accurately. Therefore, the Center plays an important and effective role in supporting the other Sections of the College by providing general studies to trainees. These general studies are not part of the specialized courses of the trainee, and it oversees the implementation and coordination with those departments to develop plans of study and select vocabulary that serves the specialty by providing the trainee with information, knowledge and practical skills for developing and improving their professional and technical knowledge at all levels until they are qualified to join the public and private labor markets.

From time to time the Section makes improvements and updates to specialist courses and syllabuses provided in conformity with the specialized curriculum of the trainee and meet his needs. The Council of the Section proposes the study plans and the main courses. It also hands out curriculum, research, lectures, exercises, and business training to trainers. The Section organizes public lectures and courses.

Tasks and Objectives:


Objectives:

1-To develop and upgrade the standard of the trainee in English language, Mathematics and physics.
2- To improve and raise the efficiency level of the trainee in Arabic Language Applications.
3-To give interest in providing education and awareness to trainees through teaching Islamic culture.
4-To teach communication skills and carrier transactions in Communication Skills and Job Behavior Course.
5- To supervise the following subjects: Islamic Culture, Arabic Language, English language, Mathematics and Physics.
6- To organize Continuous learning programs for Community Service Center.
7- To provide linguistic assistance to the specialized Sections.
8- To coordinate with other discipline specializations in the College to develop the Training Year Timetable.
9- To assess training courses and study proposals submitted by the specialized committees for the development of general   courses.
10-Organize courses for improving the performance of trainers. 
11-Establish a Translation Center.

Tasks:

1- Designs and implements programs for upgrading the standard of trainers
2- Conducts research and organizes symposia about the subjects taught at the Center.
3- Selects and assesses  syllabuses for all levels.
4- Cooperates with the Community Service Center to develop English Language Programs for the private sector.
5- Supervises the teaching of general subjects.
6- Organizes training courses for upgrading the performance of teachers.
7- Provides Linguistic assistance to other Sections.
8- Designs study plans in general studies for trainers at the College.
9- Assesses regularly each discipline and studies the proposals provided by the Specialized Committees for the purpose of developing and improving the general subjects.
10- Translates certificates and appreciation Letters into English.
