Because of the great technological development witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which in turn requires skillful manpower that could contribute effectively in building up its civilization, His majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has issued a Royal decree No. (8/225) dated 17/03/1421H approving the upgrading of Buraidah Model Agricultural Technical Institute to Buraidah College of Agricultural Technology. The new College took advantage of all the infrastructure of the previous institute.
In the year 1422H training at the new college which is the first Agricultural college in the kingdom has commenced. In 1429H a new name was given to the College “Buraidah College of Food Technology and Environment”. The College is growing rapidly trying to cope with the new developments in related fields.
The College has three main sections, these are:-
Food Processing Technology
Environmental technology (Food Safety & Environment Protection)
Food Production technology (poultry production).
The College is now hoping to open up new specialties in the near future.
