Makkah Region has hosted a two day workshop specified for the development of the curricula of industrial institutes and architectural and construction secondary institutes.
The occasion was launched by the Governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al Ghafis.
In his address, Dr. Ali commended the leadership of the kingdom for their care and concern to improve technical and vocational training in the Kingdom.
The Governor announced a new package of programs aimed at improving the performance and output of the architectural and construction secondary institutes.
His Excellency added that his Corporation is seeking to admit as many trainees as possible and provide training programs of great quality and efficiency to ensure highly qualified graduates who could compete to get appropriate employment at the labor market.
The Governor explained that the TVTC is seeking in the near future to empower graduates and assist them to establish their own businesses in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral resources and SABIC.
Al-Ghafis stressed that the TVTC is also developing programs and preparing human cadres needed for the success of the work through 72 industrial secondary institutes, 36 prisons industrial secondary institutes and 4 military training institutes.
Dr. Al-Ghafis announced the implementation of developed secondary industrial institutes and developed secondary institutes of architecture and construction programs to enable those who completed year one and two successfully to obtain the industrial secondary school diploma or the secondary institute of architecture and construction diploma.
In addition to improving the program of the intermediate school certificate holders to enable them obtain the diploma certificate.
It shall be noted that the developed industrial secondary institutes program trains students in using and operation digital devices and tools, maintenance of equipment and tools, operating production equipment, foundry, engines and vehicles, computer maintenance, networking, electronics, sheet metal, and heavy equipment, welding, electricity.
As for the developed secondary institutes of architecture and construction, they train on civil construction and architectural, survey and architectural drawing disciplines
