The Community Service Center was established in the year 1419H in order to serve the various sectors of the community.
Objectives:
- The main objectives of the Center are as follows:
1-To enhance relations between the community and the educational and training institutions through conducting research, studies and other educational and training services.
2-To know the training needs of the community and its institutions in order to develop policies to meet these needs and increase technological awareness in the society.
3-To provide suitable programs to all sectors of the community to increasing their awareness so that the Community could comprehend the technological developments going on in the World.
To achieve the above mentioned objectives, the TVTC organizes training courses in various fields of technology that meet the needs of individuals and the private and public sectors. The Corporation also provides technical consultancy to Government and Private sectors. In addition to that the TVTC conducts studies and researches which are funded by other parties and also holds forums and seminars.
The Corporation has, since its inception, implemented a number of programs in accordance with rules approved by the Board of the Center; the Board is composed of an experienced and Knowledgeable group with strong ties and relationships in education and training fields and good communications with diverse sectors of work within the Corporation and outside it.
There are three types of programs:
General Programs: these are training courses stated in the Training Programs Guide published annually and circulated among companies, establishments and private individuals.
Special Programs: these are either development programs designed for Government, Companies and Establishments or rehabilitation and qualification programs for Saudi youth to enable them join the labor market.
Summer Training Courses: These are Training courses designed for gifted students during their summer holidays in coordination with King Abdulaziz & His Men Foundation for the Gifted in a number of artistic and technical fields.
Consultancy Services: These are services provided in coordination with the private Sector so that they could benefit from the enormous expertise of the TVTC Trainers and their ability to provide very useful technical consultancy services to any party. According to statistics available, about 1948 trainees benefited from 115 programs in the training year 1419/1420. The number doubled the next year reaching 226 training programs with 3954 trainees who benefited from it.
In the year 1421/1422, about 4063 trainees benefited from the service of 252 programs. It should be noted that these training courses are held in all Colleges of Technology, Technical Training Institutes and the Vocational Training Institutes in the Kingdom. This includes all areas of specializations taught in the colleges and institutions most important among these are: Computer Science, Electronics, Welding, Electricity, Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Engines and Vehicles, Chemistry, Administrative Technology, Communications, Survey, Plumbing, Carpentry, Photography, Marketing, Architecture, Typing and painting.
